Learners Learn with Understanding

St Scholastica Primary School is a Public School on Private Property that has distinctive religious character of the Catholic Church with an intake of learners from grade R to grade 7. Its curriculum is basically determined by the provincial department, packaged in two phases. The language of teaching and learning is:

  • Foundation Phase Grade R – 3 [Tshivenda]
  • IntermediateGrade 4 – 6 [English]
  • Senior Phase Grade 7 [English]

Welcome to Scholastica Primary School

 St Scholastica Primary School is a Public School on Private Property that has distinctive religious character of the Catholic Church. The school is both boarding (private) and day schooling from grade R to 7 for both boys and girls, and is located in the deep rural of Mulima-Vuka village under Sekgosese-North Circuit within Makhado Local Municipality in ward 15, Vhembe district, Limpopo Province. The property is owned by the Bishop of Tzaneen Diocese. St Scholastica sees itself as a place where learners without discrimination of any kind are prepared for life, i.e. to grow into fully committed Christians in the present South African society.

St Scholastica is a faith Community with Jesus Christ at its centre. It is a Community serving humanity, because of love, helps all and a cares for all. Responding to the mandate of Christ “Go and teach all nations…..we give priority to the work of evangelization”. Since 2004, St Scholastica was categorised as quintile two (2) which means learners are not required to pay school fees.

Foundation Phase

This is the first entry of school for children. It is a delicate phase. Learners in this phase undertake the following subjects according to the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS):

Intermediate Phase

This is the second tier level of the GET. It acts as bridge between the elementary foundation phase and the secondary education levels. New subjects are introduced with new LOLT as follows:
